KNON Blues Festival 2011 on January 29 & 30
The 12th Annual KNON Blues Festival takes place this year on Saturday and Sunday January 29th and 30th at Poor David's Pub in Dallas. This is the longest running Blues Festival in North Texas and it is sure to be another great one. Our sponsor again this year is Red Hot & Blue BBQ so you know the food will be great!
Thankful for KNON
Just a quick note to thank everyone involved in making Blue Lisa’s Thanksgiving Live Broadcast a success. It was a lot of fun and I’d like to acknowledge those who contributed.
Blue Lisa, host of Big Texas Blues every Thursday from 9 to noon, played no small part in making the event happen. In addition to MC’ing the event she performed a song with K.M. Williams.
Marc's Hot Licks Reprise
Don O has kindly invited Marc Tuton to reprise his show Marc's Hot Licks this Friday (8/27) from 6 to 8 PM. If you remember Marc's Hot Licks you will enjoy this special show. If you are new to KNON and don't remember Marc's show here is your chance to find out why so many people fondly recall Marc Tuton's time at KNON.
Southwest Blues Benefit
There is a benefit this Sunday (July 11, 2010) at Pearl in Dallas for Southwest Blues Magazine. Southwest Blues is, hands down, the single best source for information about Blues music, Blues artists, Blues recordings, and everything having to do with the Blue scene in North Texas. And, unlike the Internet, it is portable!
Marc's Hot Licks
I had a great surprise on the air last night. My old buddy Marc Tuton was in the area and stopped by to say hello. Marc is the reason I've had a show on KNON for almost 23 years and it was great to get a chance to catch up.
First Annual Harmonica Blowout
The First Annual Harmonica Blowout at Pearl on June 27th was an outstanding show. It had three of the important “B” vitamins: Blues, Barbecue, and ice cold Beer. What better way to spend a hot Texas summer day?
Dallas Guitar Show - April 16-18, 2010
Thanks to everyone that stopped by the KNON booth at the Dallas International Guitar Festival. It is always great to meet KNON listeners. The volunteer DJ's at KNON play the music they love and it is always fun to meet people who share our taste in music. And if we're lucky someone at the show that had never heard KNON will become a new listener.
